Students weavingThe studios in Delaware and North Carolina are surrounded with woods creating a relaxing atmosphere. Aiken, SC is a delightful town. If you choose to attend this retreat, make sure you allow some time to explore this treasure.

Students will have several different options for the weekend. This year there are so many requests and choices available. We will focus on developing patterns"Twills/Steps" in Nantucketsand on "Hardwood Staves", making several different baskets on the same mold, and “Back to Basics” - reviewing what we know, but forget to implement.

New for 2011

New projects have been added and in Delaware and North Carolina, the June retreats have an OPTIONAL third full day to allow for larger projects… OR come for 2 1/2 days to give yourself time to learn all we know about Nantucket baskets while completing a variety of projects.

Last year we introduced to a new technique for "sewing" the hardwood staves. This technique is very, very easy!!! and saves so much time. Thanks Barbara Boulton!! Again this year we will have half kits, cane, glue, tools and polyurethane available at the Retreat.
