| How to PEG a Rim Workshop | The Tool Workshop |

Rim with dyed pegs Rim Pegged |
Students will learn the many different uses of a 4" belt sander/combination disc sander and a dremel. Time will be spent discussing the uses for the many drill bits and actually using both the sander and the dremel. Included in this workshop are the special drill bits needed for Nantucket baskets and hardwood staves to taper/bevel and sand. |

Students will start by learning to “PEG” into a board that can be used later in your tool kit and use it to scrape or nail on. After learning the process of pegging, you will then make your previously chosen basket. This basket must have a flatstock rim. Pegging a rim takes both time and strength, but the end result is worth the effort. |
